I created this mask to solve three issues:
- Provide the best non-medical face covering that is easy to breathe and communicate in. •
- Offer a substitute for those sensitive to sunscreen by offering patented UPF 50+protection with the broadest coverage available on the market.
- Get people excited about the benefits of being in the sun with technology that converts harmful UV rays into visible red light rays similar to professional beauty devices.
620-630 nm of visible red light has been documented to:
-RESTORE SOFT CONNECTIVE TISSUE
-MODULATE INFLAMMATORY MEDIATORS

COMMON Q&A's
Q: IS THE RAYS-TO-WAVES™ WASHABLE?
A: Absolutely. The special patented process actually laser dyes the fabric. Machine was cold, gentle cycle and air dry or tumble dry low. No bleach, chlorine, or fabric softners.
Q: DOES RAYS-TO-WAVES™ PROTECT AGAINST VIRUSES?
A: The SCHOOK® mask is not a medical mask. While the mask is made with multilayer 3D knitting we still recommend keeping social distance as recommended as our mask has only been tested as a beauty tool and fulfills basic face covering mandates. There's no reason you can't add a mask filter inside for a boost of added protection when 6ft of distance is not possible.
Q: IS RAYS-TO-WAVES™ RECOMMENDED POST BEAUTY TREATMENTS?
A: Rays-To-Waves™ is amazing post laser, peel, microneedling, or chemical lightening services! Not only will the device offer full protection where it covers, but it also assists in continued care that 620-630nm of visible red light can offer.
Q: WHY PINK?
A: Each color emits a different wave length of light. Pink, blue, and red have all shown specific benefits of the light spectrum. The pink is 620-630 nm, which is associated with anti-aging. We chose pink first because we wanted to work with the skin benefits associated with 620-630nm of visible red light, one of the most common lights used in the beauty world.
Q: HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WEAR THE RAYS-TO-WAVES™ FACE COVERING?
A: Whenever you can, but especially in the sun to increase exposure to healthy, beneficial light.
Q: WILL RAYS-TO-WAVES™ WORK INDOORS?
A: The mask works with any light source, not just the sun. Just know the more powerful the light source, the more beneficial the treatment. The mask converts ANY light source into beneficial light!
Q: SHOULD I WEAR SUNSCREEN WITH THE SCHOOK® MASK?
A: The mask gives a UPF 50+ protection and constructed to give the most coverage available on the market so anywhere your face is covered by the mask you can know you are not only protected, but enhanced by the sun's rays. The areas physically covered by the mask do not require SPF. In fact, you may block the beneficial light if you do wear spf in those areas the mask covers.
Q: WHAT IS THE RAYS-TO-WAVES™ COVERING MADE OUT OF?
A: The knit is made of 100% laser-dyed polyester. The fashion industry is one of the world's top three pollutants and instead of exhaust or solution dyeing our fabrics, we dye them with laser- better for the planet!
Q: HOW LONG DOES THE RAYS-TO-WAVES™ DEVICE LAST?
A: The mask is reausable and dyed by laser making it colorfast. With careful use, you can expect to get a minimum of six months wear out of the mask and with the copper mask case you can expect can expect even longer wear from your mask.
Q: Where is RAYS-TO-WAVES™ made?
A: Rays-To-Waves™ is 100% Made in the USA
Q: WHY IS RAYS-TO-WAVES™ ECO-FRIENDLY?
A: Our dyes are not bath dyes, which makes the fashion industry one of the greatest polluters on the planet. The manufacturing process also uses a no waste digital method that allows for precision construction that creates no additional waste.
Q: DOES THE MASK FIT EVERYONE?
A: We use a major producer of masks that produces thousands of this specific elastic styles each week. We've tested the mask on hundreds of faces and having a good seal on the face should one want to wear the Rays-To-Waves™ in the middle of a pandemic, but the purpose of the Rays-To-Waves™ is a face covering that primarily functions as a beauty tool.
Q: DOES THE SAME MASK EXIST ON THE MARKET SOMEWHERE ELSE?
A: UV light conversion is not new. It has been in the textile industry for nearly twenty years! Mary Schook is the first to bring this technology to the beauty and medical market. It also now exists in the apparel marketplace at nearly half the price because you're getting a smaller mask (4") versus a full face covering to maximize your skin goals. An antibacterial copper case is also included as part of the Rays-To-Waves™ kit to insure longer wear and greater performance from your face covering.
